Early Career Activities at EPSC2017
The EPSC2017 will see the launch of the new Europlanet Early Career (short EPEC) network. The aim of the network is forming a strong network between young professionals during the annual EPSC conference by organizing early-career-relevant events, and having a young voice within Europlanet to shape the future of planetary and space sciences.
An early career forum and reception will be held on Thursday, 21 September, from 19:30 to 21:00 in Room Neptune. All interested early-career scientists and space professionals are welcome to attend this event and to join our activities. In a short introduction, we will first give an overview of the planned structure and activities of EPEC, and discuss on how to shape the network. To celebrate the initiation of the network, we will have a reception with drinks and snacks afterwards.
Throughout the week, the EPEC committee also organizes other events:
- the Science Flash competition on Wednesday, 16:00-17:30, Room Mercury (registration is still possible)
- two short courses on scientific writing (Monday, 18 September, 12:45-13:45, Room Mercury) and ERC funding opportunities (Thursday, 21 September, 16:00-17:30, Room Mercury), and
- the Outstanding Student Poster Award (OSPA) Contest - the winners will be announced at the end of the Thursday poster session in Room Neptune.
You can also download the EPEC flyer with a summary of all events throughout the week.
All early-career scientists are also very welcome to join at the early career corner of the icebreaker on Sunday, 17 September, 16:00-18:00.
